Further Confusion 2007

Monday 22nd January:

Feeling empty (Okay, this was from Tuesday morning)

Not much going on on Monday, save for an endless stream of furries checking out of the hotel. This had begun yesterday evening, and wasn't much fun to witness. I'd already said goodbye to [info]aerofox and [info]loriana at breakfast. There was a definite feeling that the con was over. I wasn't ready for the end of the fun, so tried to avoid the lobby area in the morning.

[info]emejn decided to risk the crud incubator (sorry, hotel jacuzzi) and took several shampoo bottles down (for a shower afterwards - honest!). Found that [info]rakhan, [info]yagfox, and [info]mr_wolf were in the pool. Well technically Lone wasn't in the pool, and didn't ever get in, but he was dressed for the pool. Fetched the otter his fish, which soon became a popular pool toy (I never did get to meet [info]xydexx at the con). Relaxed with a hot chocolate by the pool. Or as relaxed as you can be when fish-collision is a possibility.

Caution: decontamination in progress

At some point in the proceedings that shampoo I mentioned got added to the jacuzzi. The result, a mass of foam that you could easily hide an otter, was strangely predictable. Exit stage left. [info]utlah74 and I were innocently drinking Sake in the bar by the time security arrived with their Biohazzard, sorry, Caution tape and roped off the scene and began the decontamination.

Deaddog: I guess dead dogs have evolved somewhat. Certainly they hadn't used to warrant an entry in the official program at my last con (AC2000). The dead dog had used to be an unoffical, disreputable room party that would inevitably end with the arrival of the local law enforcement, and the rapid dispersal of party goers via the fire escapes.

This dead dog was organised, fun, with free food (left over from other events?). After the closing speeches I drew my entry for the Crap Art Jam then went to get fuzzy for the last time at the Con. Learnt from Alohawolf that some of the furries that had been at the con were colleagues from Network Circle. I'll have to find out who. At last it felt like the con had got a second wind, and I made the most of it until the stroke of midnight, when the music stopped.
